A vehicle, gun, cash and drugs were seized in county Wexford after a car failed to stop for Gardaí.
Those on patrol in the early hours of yesterday (Tuesday, 9th June) morning in Enniscorthy initially noticed the vehicle at a roundabout in Scarawalsh.
It failed to stop and drove erratically towards Enniscorthy, the driver also proceeding to ram the patrol car before the motorist, a man aged in his thirties, attempted to escape on foot.
He was apprehended and taken to Wexford General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries but was released overnight, arrested and taken to a Garda Station in the local Division where he’s been detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
The vehicle was seized and searched with items discovered including a .32 auto pistol, four rounds of ammunition, several other weapons, about €40,000 worth of controlled drugs, more than €8,000 in cash and a number of mobile phones.
Investigations are ongoing.
