Vicar Street in Kilkenny city is due to reopen to traffic and pedestrians from lunchtime today.
It comes after works at the site have been delayed due to the recent cold temperatures and frost.
The street has been closed for the past fortnight for Central Access Scheme works which have caused traffic delays in the area.
Some locals have been telling KCLR about delays of up to 30 minutes getting through the city as a result of the works.
Kilkenny County Council have blamed the recent drop in temperatures for delaying the process, as they could not lay tarmac or concrete during that time.
