Two men who died in a crash in Carlow yesterday have been named locally.
Bhargav Chitturi and Suresh Cherukuri both died after the car they were travelling in left the road and crashed into a tree on the N80 at Leagh, Rathoe, at around 1.15 am yesterday morning.
Two other passengers in the car, a man and a woman, were taken to St Lukes Hospital in Kilkenny where their injuries are not thought to life threatening.
Superintendent Farrell with Carlow Gardai says the investigation is continuing and will explore all avenues including the road conditions at the time of the accident.

Carlow County Council Cathaoirleach Fergal Browne is praising those who helped at the scene in Rathoe,
“There’s deep shock in the Carlow community today and obviously the local church, they were involved, they’re obviously offering their services to help the breaved families and it’s just shocking
that an accident that happened so close to when the previous accident happened just a year ago.”
