Virtual reality set to transform firefighter training in Carlow

Carlow County Fire and Rescue Service has launched a new virtual reality training programme for firefighters and community fire safety education.

The technology uses VR headsets to simulate more than 20 emergency scenarios, including fires, road collisions and hazardous material incidents.

The service says the equipment will also be used at public events to teach fire safety, allowing people to experience realistic evacuation and fire extinguisher training in a safe environment.
