Muckalee will contest the AIB Leinster Junior Club Football Final this Saturday, with throw-in set for 1pm in Coralstown Kinnegad.
The Kilkenny champions will meet Colmcille of Meath as they look to continue a strong provincial campaign.
Muckalee have recorded three wins on their way to the final, overcoming St Martin’s of Wexford, St Mochtas of Louth, and Raheny of Dublin. Their most recent victory came last weekend against Raheny in the capital.
Speaking after that game, manager Pat McDowell said that while match preparation in Kilkenny is limited, belief within the panel remains strong.
“We don’t get enough games. That’s the way it is in Kilkenny,” he said. “We played Callan in the semi-final and we played the Railyard in the final. That was our two matches in Kilkenny — the 22nd and the 28th of September. We’ve been training together, but there’s nothing like matches. I hope this game today will bring them on, or we’ll just say we’re able for anyone. And I think that belief is there.”
Muckalee now turn their focus to Saturday’s decider, as they aim to secure the Leinster title.
