Labour as laid out its childcare stragedy ahead of the general election.
The party announced that it would create 30,000 additional childcare places over the next government term, establishing 100 new services each year.
To support this initiative, thousands of extra staff would be recruited, aided by improved pay. Additionally, fees would be capped at €200 per child per month, moving toward a universal and publicly provided system of early childhood education and care.
