Carlow captain Chris Nolan says his side know they will need to improve ahead of this weekend’s crucial Joe McDonagh Cup clash with London.
A win for Pat Bennett’s side at Netwatch Cullen Park on Saturday would all but secure a place in the Joe McDonagh Cup Final.
Throw-in is at 1pm and the game will be live on KCLR thanks to June Doran Properties.
Carlow remain unbeaten after last weekend’s dramatic 3-17 to 2-17 win over Down in Ballycran, but Nolan admitted afterwards that the team were not fully satisfied with their overall display.
“Our hurling wasn’t as sharp as we would have liked it to be.
“Balls were dropping, our first touch wasn’t great, our striking wasn’t great. But that’s something to work on.
“Today when things weren’t going well like that, we just worked for each other and worked hard.
“So this weekend we’ll try and sharpen up a bit. We’ll try and work on them things that we didn’t do that well.”
Carlow head into the weekend in a strong position in the standings as they continue their push towards a place in the Joe McDonagh Cup decider.
