WhatsApp to let users hide phone numbers

Approximately 3.3 billion WhatsApp users will soon be able to hide their phone numbers by creating unique usernames.

The new feature means people can connect on the messaging app without sharing their personal number, offering greater privacy, particularly in group chats.

Users will be able to reserve a username in the coming weeks.
