Carlow-Kilkenny TD John McGuinness is urging government action in the upcoming budget to support rural pubs and protect community life.
After meeting the Vintners Federation of Ireland CEO, fellow Kilkenny city native Pat Crotty, the Leas Ceann Comhairle warned that ongoing closures are threatening villages.
Deputy McGuinness says investment is needed to sustain jobs as many rural pubs reduce hours or shut permanently and he told KCLR News’ Martin Quilty there’s a real threat to business as a whole;
