Young Ballyragget man critically ill in hospital following crash at the weekend

The wider community in Ballyragget is hoping for some good news as a young local man remains critically ill in hospital in Cork after a road crash.

James Kelly suffered serious injuries following the incident which is understood to have happened outside Thurles in the early hours of Sunday morning as he was returning home after the Kilkenny hurling match in Semple Stadium.

James who is in his 20’s is well known in the GAA community as a hurler with St Patrick’s GAA club and is a brother of Kilkenny county star Kevin Kelly.

KCLR News understands there has been a slight improvement in his condition in recent days.
