Young cyclist dies after bike hits parked lorry in County Waterford

A young cyclist was killed after his bike hit a parked lorry in County Waterford.

It happened on the N72 at Ballygalane, between Lismore and Cappoquin yesterday (Tuesday) morning, shortly after 11am.

The body of the boy was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination will take place.

Nobody else was injured in the incident.

Investigations are ongoing with Gardaí calling on witnesses to come forward, in particular those who might have dashcam footage from the area between 10:30am and 11:15am.
