A decision on whether or not to grant permission to Waterways Ireland to develop the Barrow Tow-path has been put on hold.
It was due this week but further information has now been sought from the applicant.
In the meantime 427 submissions about the project have been made to the local authority in Carlow.
Planning applications have also been made to Laois and Kildare county councils for the multi-use shared leisure route or Blueway, which will be about 115 kilometres in length, running through the 3 counties along the River Barrow from Lowtown in Co Kildare to St Mullins in Co Carlow.
