Tours of Kilkenny Castle will now be accessible to the hearing impaired.
A programme of Irish Sign Language-interpreted tours is being launched by the O-P-W today in the Castle in conjunction with the Centre for Deaf Studies in Trinity College.
The pilot programme began in Dublin Castle in January and continued at Farmleigh with more sites planned during the rest of this year.
Patrick Mannix is a tour guide at the castle and he told KCLR that if today’s launch is a success, they may become a regular feature.
