“The Health Service in Ireland is not a nice place to work”.
So says Kilkenny GP Tadhg Crowley who says money is the main obstruction to improving the situation.
Just last week, KCLR reported that an application has now been submitted to the HSE by St Luke’s Hospital for a new building and 75 extra beds to deal with the trolley crisis there.
Again today the local hospital is the second most overcrowded in the country with 27 people waiting for a bed.
Speaking to KCLR Live this morning, Dr Crowley says they may have applied for extra beds but extra staff will also be needed.
However, he says there’s no guarantee at all that the extra staff needed for this extension would be provided.
