Local soldiers home with their families again

DSC00216_largeLocal soldiers are back with their families this morning having spent their first night at home in months.

The troops of the 44th infantry group drawn from James Stephens barracks in Kilkenny arrived home late last night following an eventful tour of duty in the Golan heights.

There was emotional scenes as families were reunited at Casement Aerodrome

Sgt Diarmuid O Dwyer who lives in Callan said they did manage to keep in regular contact with them while away
