A proposal to use 41 unfinished homes in Weirview housing estate in Kilkenny for social housing has led to some controversy.
Council management say the homes are badly needed but council members have their reservations while residents of the private housing estate are objecting to the plans.
It’s come about following an agreement between NAMA and the Government to release a certain amount of distressed properties for social housing.
Director of services John McCormack says its still only a proposal though.
