Parts of Carlow and Kilkenny were among the most notable detections of people breaking the speed limits as part of National Slow Down day.
The initiative ran over 24 hours nationwide, and came to an end at 7 o clock this morning.
In Kilkenny, A motorist was detected doing 74 km/h in a 50 km zone in Ballyhale, another was clocked doing 93 km/h in a 60 km zone at Margarets Field.
In Carlow, someone was caught doing 110 km/h in an 80 km zone and the highest speed location locally was in Wells, Bagenalstown where a motorist was doing 140 km/h in a 100 km zone.
In total, 135,010 vehicles were stopped, with 341 of them traveling in excess of the speed limit.
