Just over 2,500 people have now signed a petition for increased security at Carlow’s Town Park.
It was set up by Róisín Fitzpatrick, who’s brother Eoin was recently targetted in an area nearby by people who turned off his electric wheelchair before mugging him.
Róisín says there’s still been no action taken, but she plans to hand in the petition to the County Council offices in the next fortnight.
Ideally they are looking for not just security cameras, but for security personnel there too.
Róisín told KCLR News she’s been disappointed not to hear from any of the local councillors about the matter.
