You can expect further CAS-related traffic delays around Kilkenny City from next week.
More works on Phase 2 of the Central Access Scheme mean that Vicar Street will be closed from Monday the 14th to Monday the 21st of November.
Just weeks after the heavier works around Wolfe Tone, Michael and Greensbridge Street finished up, similar works are now about to take place on Vicar Street.
Fox Contractors say new and improved road and pedestrian paths will be provided in the next week, along with the upgrading of existing infrastructure like the ESB, water, drainage and communications networks.
The work will be carried out between 7am and 10pm each day, but they say only lighter work will take place after 6 o’clock.
Traffic is being diverted from Irish Town to Dean Street, onto the Granges Road and then Parkview Drive.
While for those coming from Greens Bridge it’ll be the same route but in reverse.
Local access will still be provided for businesses and homes along Vicar Street.
