Works on Phase two of Kilkenny’s Central Access scheme will get underway tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.
They were due to start this morning, but it’s been pushed back by one day.
As a result, there’s a number of traffic restrictions in place in and around the eastern side of the bridge.
Works will begin at 10:30am tomorrow morning on phase two of Kilkenny’s central access scheme, and will continue until 10pm in the night.
It will be the same until the 24th of October – and the areas affected are around Greensbridge, Wolfe Tone and Michael Street.
Access through these streets is for residents only, no through traffic will be permitted for the duration of the works.
This batch of work includes upgrading to provide new and improved road, carparking and pedestrian paths – and overhead power lines are also being removed.
The ‘heavy works’ including breaking and rolling will be restricted to 6pm every evening.
