148 people were fined for littering in Kilkenny last year.
According to Kilkenny County Council, they got 636 complaints about litter and the fines were handed out after investigations.
Litter management cost the council 1.2 million euro last year despite the city winning a National Tidy Towns award and being named Ireland’s cleanest town in the IBAL awards.
