54 COVID-19 patients are in hospital with 18 now in critical care. There’s been 3 new hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

Dr. Tony Holohan, Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health, says “We are now experiencing near elimination of COVID-19 in the vaccinated population.”

With Covid deaths, hospitalisations and admissions to ICU all falling steadily another member of NPHET, Professor Philip Nolan, says Ireland’s Covid pandemic has begun to shrink.
