Carlow is awash with celtic culture as the 50th Pan Celtic International Festival takes hold.
A Fáilte Ceolchoirm which was broadcast live on social media and saw the official welcoming to all who are in our locality from Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany and the Isle of Man.
Bríde de Róiste was at the helm of the occasion with speeches too from others, including Cathaoirleach of the County Council, Cllr Andrea Dalton, while entertainment came in the various languages of the participating nations.
Until Saturday an extensive programme of events is rolling out (full details here) with today’s focus including a walking tour with Carlow Historical and Archaeological Society from 10am at Potato Market, exhibitions at various venues open from 11am, and there’s everything from Scottish Highland dancing, family storytelling and so much more.
