Emergency crews from the Netherlands, France, Austria and Finland are due to arrive from today to help the ESB restore electricity supply to homes and businesses across the country.
As of last night there were still 180,000 premises without power since storm Éowyn last Friday – 83 of them across two faults in the Tullow area of County Carlow where it’s estimated supply will be back by 10:30 tonight.

It’s hoped the rest across the country will have theirs back before the weekend.
