Ukrainians in Carlow and Kilkenny have again thanked local communities for their support.
Ahead of today’s third anniversary of the invasion of Russia, those who fled the war and are currently living in Ireland turned out at stages over the weekend, many of them in Kilkenny city yesterday (Sunday) and in Carlow town on Saturday.
It’s as hundreds continue to reside in temporary accommodation – with 286 beds at the former sports and equestrian centre in Wallslough, County Kilkenny, last week confirmed for this purpose. While contracts are ending with other providers, including most recently for the former Tougher’s Restaurant in Carlow.
World leaders, including An Taoiseach Micheál Martin, are due to discuss the latest developments in Ukraine today in an online meeting convened by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
