Many people locally who avail of the Expressway Route 4 bus service have been outlining the impact its withdrawal this weekend will have on them and on local businesses.
It was confirmed some time ago the offering between Waterford and Dublin Airport was to end with a date now set for this Sunday (24th May) with the National Transport Authority confirming a Public Service Obligation offering, but its details are as yet not fully clear.
At the weekend Leas Ceann Comhairle and Carlow Kilkenny Fianna Fáil TD John McGuinness called on Government to intervene and see the decision reversed.
Some have claimed his party Dáil colleague for the constituency Deputy Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere is responsible for misinformation around this topic – KCLR News’ Edwina Grace put that to him earlier;
The KCLR Daily’s been hearing from those who say they’ll be impacted, beginning with Therese Maher of The 4 Bus 4 Us campaign;
Also affected are businesses in the areas where the bus currently stops – stay tuned for more and if you’ve something to add please text/whatsapp straight to studio: 083 306 96 96.
