A Kilkenny mother says the Little Blue Heroes charity has been a huge support to her son Theo and their family.
Theo was born prematurely at 32 weeks and spent eight weeks in hospital before later developing hydrocephalus, requiring a shunt to drain fluid from his brain.
He became a Little Blue Hero after being referred by a social worker while receiving treatment in Temple Street.
His mum Nadine says the charity gives children and their families opportunities they might otherwise miss, while praising Kilkenny coordinator Garda Lisa Mullins for going above and beyond.
She says Theo has formed a special bond with Gardaí and loves attending events involving the emergency services.
