A body was found by a French trawler off Waterford Coast

A body has been discovered by a fishing trawler off the Waterford coast.

Gardaí­ were alerted to the discovery shortly after 9 am on Thursday morning.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem exam.

Gardaí­ say enquiries are ongoing.
