It’s been a mixture of chat and cake for the leader of the Opposition and Sinn Féin.
Mary Lou McDonald began her Kilkenny visit today by speaking with students at St Kieran’s College and had plans to visit McDonagh Junction but in between stopped off at the Good Shepherd Centre.
Initially she strolled the forecourt, chatting with clients about their concerns and personal situations before moving indoors for a meeting with centre officials.
From that room, she spoke with our Brian Redmond on The KCLR Daily – if you missed that you can listen back here;
KCLR News’ Edwina Grace caught up with Good Shepherd Centre Manager Noel Sherry after the meeting there;
Edwina also spoke with the facility’s Chef Pat Carroll to ask her about the famous cakes she served up and Mary Lou’s previously reaction to one of those;
