A woman has been charged with a fatal assault in Carlow on Monday

The woman arrested in connection with a fatal assault on Darren Quigley on Monday night has been formally charged.

The 30 year old Carlow man was found unresponsive and with serious injuries by Gardaí after 11.30pm -he was later pronounced dead at St Luke’s General Hospital.

The woman who was known to Mr Quigley will appear before a special sitting of Carlow District Court later this evening
