Families of residents at St Patricks met with the advocacy group Inclusion Ireland last night to discuss what is happening at the centre.
There’s been ongoing concerns since the HSE revealed its ‘decongregation’ plans for the centre which ultimately include its closure over the next few years.
Some residents have already been moved to a local nursing home while others are being accomodated in a Kilkenny hotel on a temporary basis.
Last night Inclusion Ireland Chief Executive Paddy Connolly facilitated a meeting for families to come together and voice their fears.
A steering group was formed and the committee intends to bring the concerns to management at the centre.
