Aldi has reopened the doors of a Carlow town outlet following its €1million upgrade.
The retail giant had closed its Hanover Road branch earlier this month for a makeover in line with the brand’s award-winning Project Fresh design which was recognised at the Checkout National Grocery Retail Awards where their outlet in Callan, Co Kilkenny scooped the Discounter Store of the Year Award last week.
Last year, ALDI invested €7.2 million in upgrading six of its offerings across the country with the launch of Project Fresh Enhanced which introduced new units in-store including a fresh herb stand, a dedicated bread and cake fixture, as well as a Health and Beauty feature.
It’s also begun the installation of self-service checkouts at select stores, including the updated Carlow one.
Speaking at today’s reopening, Lukasz Osinski, ALDI Carlow Store Manager said; “The Project Fresh revamp of our store is fantastic news for our local customers. The new spacious design makes for a very enjoyable shop and customers can easily find everything they need with convenient store opening hours. We are also thrilled to take part in the trial of ALDI’s new self-checkouts. Our promise to our Carlow customers is that we will never be beaten on price, and we will always provide the best value. In this current environment, it is more important than ever that customers can always avail of great value products at unbeatable prices here in ALDI.”
