Amalgamation of Carlow & Kilkenny VEC was a good move according to ETBI general secretary

The general secretary of the Education and Training Boards of Ireland says the establishment of the ETB was a step in the right direction.

Carlow man Michael Moriarty was speaking ahead of an awards ceremony tonight, where he will be presented the prestigious, internationally recognised, “Albert Schweitzer” award.

He’s getting it for his work and leadership in the area of education, training and structural reform.

Previously there were separate branches of the Carlow and Kilkenny VEC before they were amalgamated to form the Carlow Kilkenny Education and training board.
