A notorious black spot in Carlow looks set to get some new road safety features.
The N80 has seen a number of fatalities and there have been been many calls from various quarters for sections of the route to be re-aligned.
Cllr Ben Ward outlines the update he and his colleagues had at their monthly meeting last evening, saying; “In relation to the Leagh Bends we’re told that the planning permission is in with An Bord Pleanála now and we should hear back in June the decision, on top of that the fixed speed camera will be in there within the next six to eight weeks so that’s an interim measure that hopefully will help to alleviate some of them speed issues that are on that section of the road”.
