A new pharmacy in Ballon opens its doors to the public for the first time today.
It’s the first pharmacy to open in the village and it’s located on Main Street.
Local Fianna Fail Cllr John Murphy says it’s fantastic for the local community as it adds to the village’s offering, telling KCLR News “It’s a big population around Ballon and right beside it there’s a new dog grooming facility opening up in the very short time as well so it is good news for Ballon and there’s very little vacant properties there now, the main street is almost full”.
He adds “Hopefully the locals will support it now, I think that’s what it’s all about, but I think they will it’s a big catchment area, you take in Myshall, take Kildavin, take all into Rathoe so it is a big catchment area and it’s another business for the like of Ballon but if you look at passing trade even there’ll be a certain amount of a spin-off I hope from passing trade as well like there’s seven, eight thousand vehicles passing through Ballon”.
