Kilkenny County Council could stand to lose over €100 million, if the proposed changes to the Kilkenny-Waterford boundary go ahead.
A three-man committee to review the boundary with Waterford was established in June of 2015 and they have until the 31st of March to make a report to Environment Minister Alan Kelly.
The public consultation process closed in recent weeks with over 20,000 submissions received.
Because the area of interest includes Bellview Port as well as around 7,000 people, it’s estimated the loss of revenue to Kilkenny County Council would be in the region of €110 million.
