Tánaiste and Finance Minister Simon Harris with Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation Jack Chambers will announce Budget 2027 at lunchtime, with an €8.6billion package forecast.
Boosts are due in the form of income tax cuts, more affordable childcare as well as other measures to combat the cost-of-living crisis.
It’s understood there’s good news on the way for housing, small pubs and other sectors.
Meanwhile, locally based Sinn Féin MEP Kathleen Funchion’s among those calling for workers, families, commuters and farmers to be put to the fore.
She says; “For too many people, wages are being swallowed up by everyday bills and the general cost of living, whilst some are having to choose between paying their bills and putting food on the table” and believes “Budget 2027 is opportunity for Government to put money back into people’s pockets”.
