Carlow Councillor Will Paton announces decision to leave the Labour Party to become an Independent representative

A well-known Carlow councillor has left Labour to become an Independent representative.

Will Paton’s decision leaves Willie Quinn as the party’s sole person on the county’s local authority, with one (Tomás Breathnach) too in Kilkenny.

Cllr Paton told council colleagues at their monthly meeting last evening.
