Carlow Council’s Deputy CEO says their security systems constantly being checked after Meath cyber-attack

Carlow County Council’s Deputy Chief Executive says the main thing they can do is stay vigilant when it comes to cyber security.

Dan McInerney was speaking after councillors raised concerns that what happened to Meath County Council could happen to them.

In December, Meath’s Council had €4.3 million transferred from their accounts after they were hacked.

Since then, councils around the country have been ensuring extra security measures are in place for all their online activity.
