Carlow sides lose out in O Byrne Cup

It was a bad start to the O Byrne cup for Carlow football sides as Sunday as both teams involved lost out on day one.

The Carlow inter county side lost out to Longford by 1-19 to 2-7 having trailed by 1-13 to no score in the first half.

Seamus Kinsella and Shane Mc Grath scored second half goals to narrow the gap but the home side in Dr Cullen park slumped to a 9 point loss.

The students of I.T Carlow also lost to Wicklow,going down to their inter county rivals by 1-9 to 0-11
