The Student Union President at IT Carlow has added her voice to calls for further investigation into the use of so-called ‘study drugs’.
Its after it emerged in recent days that students at a number of college campuses are using unprescribed medication to help them cope with exam season.
Prescription drugs like Adderall, Ritalin and Concerta are some of the medicines being taken by students to help them concentrate and stay awake.
Lorna Fitzpatrick, President at IT Carlow Students Union says it needs further investigation but so far they are not aware of such an issue in the local college.
