If you’d like to play a game with knights, queens, kings and bishops in front of Kilkenny Castle, you could be in luck.
Kilkenny City Municipal Council are planning on putting outdoor chess tables on the Parade.
Four tables have been suggested for the public space.
Councillor David Kennedy told KCLR news he had some questions about how the pieces would be hired out but overall thinks it’s a good move.
He says most public spaces nowadays have gaming areas on them.
