Melissa O’Neill has been expelled from Sinn Fein.
The decision follows the conclusion of a disciplinary process started back in May after after a video emerged showing the Ferrybank-based councillor publicly arguing with her neighbours.
In September of this year, O’Neill had suggested she had no intention of resigning from the party.
It’s understood there were also ongoing issues between the councillor and another local members of Sinn Féin.
The decision was made by the party’s Ard Chomhairle last Saturday and Councillor O’Neill was officially notified this morning.
