Community First Responders group to be dispatched to emergencies in North Kilkenny

From this coming January, Community First Responders in one North Kilkenny town will be able to respond to 999 emergency calls.

Johnstown and Crosspatrick Defibrillator Group are setting up a CFR team that will be linked up with the National Ambulance Service to attend local life-saving calls.

Cathy Dermody is one of those involved and she says it’s important to get as many people as possible involved.

Speaking to KCLR News, she says with ambulance response times as lengthy as they are, it’s important to have a service like this available.
