As freezing weather continues to impact the region, local shops are playing a crucial role in keeping communities connected.
With many rural roads untreated and public transport disrupted, local stores are providing essential supplies, offering a lifeline to those unable to travel far.
Many are also going the extra mile, offering delivery services to those housebound by weather and farmers helping out by colleting stock for the local business.
One of those is Petes Shop who had difficulty in getting milk delivered to their shop in Kilmoganny. Owner Ashleigh Baxter told KCLR News how Tom came to their rescue.
Meanwhile Bobs XL in Kells also had the same issue with getting a delivery of milk, he has heaped praise on one of our famous ploughmen – Brian Ireland.
