Winter respiratory viruses continue to see St Luke’s Hospital for Carlow and Kilkenny face pressure with very high levels of attendance due to ongoing admittance.
Yesterday, the Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation’s Trolley Watch claimed there were 40 people waiting on a bed at the local facility, up from 30 on Friday.
In a statement to KCLR News, hospital management say they’ve implemented several measures to reduce the number of patients waiting on trolleys for an acute bed.
However, some will experience very long wait times in the AMAU / Emergency Department.
You’re being reminded to again consider all care options before presenting there.
