Councillor shocked as JJ Kavanagh pulls bus service from Castlecomer, calling decision upsetting for residents

A local councillor says he was shocked and initially thought it was an April Fool’s joke when he learned that JJ Kavanagh and Sons have decided to withdraw their bus service from Castlecomer.

Independent councillor Maurice Shorthall said that this decision will have a profoundly negative impact on the lives of residents in Castlecomer and surrounding areas.

He said that it seems the company’s reason for the change is to streamline their services and ensure that people can reach other main routes more quickly.
