Councillor David Fitzgerald says people living on non-public roads have been abandoned by the Council for the past 6 years.
He brought a motion before Friday’s Kilkenny City Municipal District to allocate funding to fix problems on these lanes – however it was voted down.
Councillor Fitzgerald says members of Fianna Fail and Sinn Fein amongst others, voted against it simply because the motion mentioned one specific area – Grove Lane in Cuffesgrange.
Speaking to KCLR news, David says these people have offered to make a significant contribution but now there’s nothing going to be done.
