Dicksboro are celebrating a narrow but hard-earned victory after edging Oulart-The Ballagh by a single point in the AIB Leinster Club Final at SETU Carlow.
The Kilkenny side came from behind to claim the title, winning 0-17 to 1-13. They trailed 1-9 to 0-7 at half-time but produced a steady, disciplined second half to turn the game in their favour.
Goalkeeper Cara Duggan said the group focused on staying calm despite the deficit.
“We scrapped the first half, the score was nil and nil and we went again,” she said. “We kept going with our scores and then it kind of worked out in the end.
“We just said keep chipping at it, keep chipping at it. We knew we had it in our legs to keep going. Well, not me in the goal, but as for the rest of the girls – they just kept chipping away and they were outstanding.”
