The month of March saw a drop of over 200 people on the live register in Carlow and Kilkenny.
Kilkenny saw a reduction of 159 people seeking some form of unemployment benefit while Carlow saw a drop of 63 in total.
According to the latest figures revealed by the CSO there are now 6,372 people signing on in Carlow while Kilkenny has a total of 6,717 receiving unemployment assistance.
